In the center of the Dagda town you can see an eye-catching Monument - “The Grieving Mother”. Sculpture was installed in 1996 and is dedicated to the memory of the victims of communist terror. Author- sculptor Alvine Veinbaha (02.09.1923.-04.02.2011.) was born in Zirni, Saldus county.
