The border-region cycling route passes through several municipalities – it starts and ends in the Ludza region, with a section crossing into the Krāslava region. The route goes through the Ezernieki protected landscape area, along Lake Eša (Ežezeru), with opportunities to stop at the Piļoru oak grove and explore numerous sacred tourist sites.
Next, the route leads to Andrupene, where you can visit a traditional rural farmstead and take a walk along the bog trail. Further along, you can visit ceramic artist Jānis Maļkevičs, stop by the “Murza” brewery, see Dagda, the smallest town in Latgale by area, visit Jaundome Manor, and then pass through Ezernieki again, approaching the Latvia–Russia border near Šķaune and one of Latgale’s sacred gems – Pasiene.
