Near Rīgas Street 54, Krāslava
In this square once stood the first monumental masonry building in Krāslava — the town hall. At the beginning of the 19th century, the town hall, like most of Krāslava’s buildings, suffered a fire that led to the demolition of the tower and the building’s second floor, while the first floor continued to be used as a cultural center and later as a sports school. In 2016, the building was demolished.
The environmental art object “Town Hall” was created in the summer of 2021 by artists Mairita and Ivo Folkmanis, based on a drawing by K. Rēmers.
