Nature is all around us. We begin to explore it from early childhood, and the best way to truly experience it is to go out into nature itself. When entering Krāslava from the Daugavpils side, you’ll find a unique natural site that formed long ago – the Adamova Nature Trail.

This trail captivates visitors with its special charm. It winds through the protected landscape area “Augšdaugava” and the nature park “Daugavas Loki.” The path twists and turns in all directions, inviting visitors to climb hills and descend into ravines while enjoying the untouched beauty of the forest. Bridges, stairs, and viewing platforms offer breathtaking views over the Daugava River valley that leave no one indifferent.

While walking along the trail, you can spot rare plants, multi-trunk lindens, large boulders, and perhaps meet squirrels, frogs, or birds. A leisurely walk rewards you with the sound of birdsong, the whisper of the wind, and the gentle murmur of the Daugava River.

The Adamova Nature Trail is 1.7 km long and is perfect for active walkers, as it winds both uphill and downhill. Steeper slopes have stairs, and bridges cross ravines and streams. Younger visitors will enjoy the wooden sculptures that greet guests along the section by the Daugava River.

The trail offers two routes:

  • Starting from the entrance on the right takes you along the full 1.8 km route, suitable for a more active walk;
  • Starting from the entrance slightly to the left leads to an easier route, ideal for a light stroll along the Daugava River.

The Adamova Nature Trail is beautiful in every season but especially enchanting in spring, when anemones bloom, and in autumn, when nature is painted in vivid colors.

In 2021, the trail’s infrastructure was restored, with new information stands, wooden sculptures, and benches installed — perfect spots to rest and listen to the songs of the birds.
